J.Crew Blythe Blouse in Polka Dot

Minnie pants in bi-stretch wool also twill (caramel)

This is the newest version of the Blythe blouse from J.Crew. I'm a fan of the Blythe because the smooth silk makes it easy to  layer under sweaters and jackets with snug sleeves.

Sizing and fit are similar to my solid color Blythe tops (I'm wearing a regular size here, not tall). I found the way the dots show through from the bottom layer of the chest pockets to be distracting. Does that make sense when we're talking about polka dots? ;) It's not a deal breaker necessarily, but it's the first thing I noticed when I saw it in person. Of course, it won't be as obvious if worn with a sweater or jacket.

I'm wearing it with the Classic long merino cardigan in the modern red color, below. You can't really see it on my photos, but the dots from the shirt are fairly visible through the sleeves and arms of the sweater. I would probably wear it with one that's a darker color, or a thicker knit.

I'm also wearing the Tortoise link bracelet, exactly like in the photos below, see it in my previous post here

Are you a fan of J.Crew's silk Blythe top? Is the polka dot version on your wishlist?

  2. Hi Deanna. Do you mean the two-tone heels in the last full outfit photo? Those are the Mona tassel pumps from J.Crew. They're sold out online now but you can still find them on eBay. I added the J.Crew link if you want to check out the description.

    Thanks for visiting! :)

  4. I really loved the blouse when I first saw it on you in my feed, but now I can totally see what you mean about the dots poking through! That would definitely bother me! I love the polka dots with the red and camel though! Great colour combo!

    1. Hi Jyoti! I would have loved the top without pockets. Also, maybe I'll look for something similar with short sleeves to wear under cardigans like this.

  5. Hi Deanna,

I have a question for you that I was wondering if you'd email me about... LaurenJung1 (at) gmail (dot) com... I couldn't find a contact form on your site, so if you're reviewing this comment, just shoot me an email and don't post the comment.

But if you do post it... I was torn between that white polka dot shirt and the black version. And then at the last minute after the white one was already in my cart, I had a change of heart and swapped it out with the black version. Which I like too. The white dots on the black give off a slightly different vibe, which I can't decide if I like it more or less than the white. The white one is definitely cute in your pics!
