It's a long way off from the winter thaw when this No. 2 Scroll print skirt can go outside in my corner of the world, but a few lucky ladies who live in warmer climes are already rocking it. It is sold out on the website, but if you have your heart set on trying it, watch for pop-backs.
Long No. 2 skirt in scroll print. More scarf and scroll print
skirts here, here, here, and luxe versions here and here.)
I like it best with tops in blue, ivory/white and that wild mushroom color J.Crew did back in 2010. The only strike against it IMO is the poly lining, which may be uncomfortable in hot weather.skirts here, here, here, and luxe versions here and here.)
I'm also wearing it with the Merino boyfriend sweater. This is my definition of a closet workhorse. The shape, drape and material are modern, flattering and effortless. I'm wearing an x-small, one size smaller than my regular.
I also tried the Printed Skimmer pants from J.Crew Factory. I'm not obsessed with polka dots the way I am with stripes, but I think these are fun for spring and summer.
The pants, sweater, skirt and bracelet are early additions to my spring wardrobe. I look forward to wearing them. Just a few pieces like these can easily mix and match with older items and create plenty of new outfits.
Hope your week is off to a great start, and thank you for visiting! :)

Hm, somehow I never noticed the tortoise bracelet, and it's really good-looking, must hunt it down.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say that skirt looks wonderful with the dark top. It was in a window at a JC near me, styled with a striped sweater and about 3 other layers - Gayle at her worst - and I couldn't focus. You may have just sold a skirt.
Go for it WFF, I think you'll like the bracelet. It's not diminutive, but it's tastefully understated and you don't have to remove it to work at a desk.
DeleteAll those layers and stripes sound crazy! Maybe the store should have checked out their own website for styling inspiration. It looked great on their with the simple tee, denim jacket, gold sandals.
Thanks for visiting WFF, it's always a pleasure to read your comments. :)
Love the sweater!
ReplyDeleteMe too briannelee, I know I'll wear it often. Thanks for visiting! :)
DeleteLOve how you combined the boyfriend sweater with a pencil skirt.
ReplyDeleteI have tried it too,but i think i am too short for that combination.
Looks great on you!
I think i need that bracelet too.
Thank you Ina. The skirt is one for tall gals, but I can wear the sweater with some of my regular length pencil skirts too.
DeleteI think you'll like the bracelet. :) Thanks for visiting!
The scroll print is gorgeous - I can't believe everything with the print is sold out online, I was considering the shorts!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, thanks for stopping by! I couldn't believe it sold out that quickly either. I was also surprised J.Crew didn't have more available on back-order.
DeleteI actually saw the shorts popped back today, but just in one size. Just keep checking the site in case your size shows up.
Oh you look gorgeous!!! I love that print - it is sadly too long for me, I think, but I am sure there will be another one around the corner! I love those skimmer pants and have thought of buying them myself, but went with the minnies in khahi instead. I have so many fancy pants of sorts, I thought I might want to tone it down and jazz them up with coloured shoes! I love the tortoise shells bracelet!
ReplyDeleteHi WMM, lovely to see you, thanks for visiting. The length is great for me, but not so much for shorter gals. I'm sure there will be many more skirts coming for us to crush on by the time we can actually wear them. :)
DeleteYour khaki pants will be more versatile, and I like your idea for jazzing them up with color.
I didn't realize that this skirt sold out online. That's too bad. Hopefully it will pop back and I can grab it! Anyhow, the skirt looks lovely on you and the pairing with the sweater is beautiful. I also love the skimmer pants, beautiful print!
ReplyDeleteHi Hellokatigirl! Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm sure the skirt will pop-back, like most things.
DeleteThe pants are fun, aren't they? They practically scream summer and sunshine. :)
Your skirt and top combos as well as the tortoise shell bracelet are beautiful. As usual, you look great in all of the outfits. I have the café capri in Pop Art polka dot from last year (not the factory version) and love them-very comfy, flattering and fun. I love how you styled the outfit for spring. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHi Awakening my Wardrobe! Thanks for your lovely comment. I did notice the ones from last year popped-back in the sale section a few times recently. I don't think they were in my size though.
DeleteI think the navy/white lends classic appeal to these, trending polka dot print or no.
Thank you for the tip on the sizing for the Merino boyfriend sweater. I was wondering if I should size down.
ReplyDeleteI've been admiring the tortoise bracelet myself. Trying to decide between the two styles. The tortoise and brass one looks a bit narrower. It also looks chunkier. As I've mentioned before, I really wish JC would have more detailed descriptions, like length and width.
Hi maryeb. Thank you for stopping by! I did size down because it's a voluminous sweater. The smaller size seemed like a more flattering fit, at least on me.
DeleteI haven't seen the other bracelet IRL, but agree it does seem chunkier. It's pretty too, with more shine. :)
oh goooooodddd did I just fall in love! your bracelet choices are to die for!
ReplyDeleteHonestly i never thought of making my own belly chain. you just inspired me!!! thanks so much for the great idea! come summer, i see a DIY post coming on :) you're the best!
Love your blog. Which pumps are you wearing with the skirt? They look like the perfect neutral colour -- many thanks, Anna
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh I just squealed a little in excitement when I saw this post because I just received the shorts a few days ago after haranguing customer service for 3 or 4 days in a row to track down a pair, and your post elicited a little Scroll Print-camaraderie fervor, lol. Sooooooo excited about the print! I kind of wanted to get the skirt too but I don't have much occasion for pencil skirts, especially ones that are below the knee that would necessitate heels. But I can see why they made this skirt in the Long No. 2 silhouette, given the large height of the print (although to be fair, they're probably in control of its size). I'm also a little disappointed they didn't have the Scroll Print styles ready for backorder, and I left a Bizrate remark about it. Anyway, for anyone else trying to track down one of these items, I might recommend calling Customer Service for a We Will Find It For You, maybe even more than once. I'll try to put up a review of the shorts soon.
ReplyDeleteHi, I was wondering about the fit. Do you think it's tts?
ReplyDeleteHow does the scroll print skirt fit? Do you think it's TTS?
ReplyDeleteI would appreciate if you let me know as I'll be ordering one this week. :)
I'm between size 2 and 4 so wanted to see which I should go with.
Thank you!
Could I ask how the scroll print skirt fits? Do you say it's tts?
ReplyDeleteI'll be ordering one online this week and wanted to see if I should size up.
(I'm in between size 2 and 4).
Thanks so much!
Apologies for the late reply Jcrew_lover! I hope you can grab the skirt soon. It runs TTS for me. I gained weight over winter, so I went with the size 4 and the fit is perfect (I used to wear 2 in all JC skirts). FYI size 4 measurements are: waist 15" hip 18 1/2" (measured flat). HTH! :)
