Chin up! Spring will be here in just a few weeks, or so we're told. I can hardly wait, how about you? Where I live, the thermometer still reads below zero, day and night. I am getting my share of virtual fun with colorful spring outfits, but in real life I'm not always inspired to do more than throw on something comfortable that blends in with the urban landscape at this time of year. Example, my very casual Friday outfit.
The Sailor Tee in engineered stripe above, is a great little season spanning top. Layer over another tee or turtleneck now (it's quite thick), wear with shorts and sandals in June. I intentionally sized up because I wanted a more slouchy fit.

I scored these purrfect gloves and the Emmett ankle boots during the 40% off sale at J.Crew this winter. I have to agree with Nina Garcia's take on animal prints, from her book The One Hundred, that it adds a slight element of danger to an otherwise safe outfit.

I can see this with neutral shoes, or a sunny yellow pair like these. Ah, spring! Are we there yet?
